Frequently Asked Questions
Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes, chiropractic care is widely recognised as one of the safest, drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints.
Our chiropractors are university-trained for five years, government registered and regulated health professionals. We prioritise your safety and well-being in all our treatments.
How soon can I expect to feel relief after my first adjustment?
Many patients experience some relief immediately after their first adjustment. However, everyone’s body responds differently to chiropractic care. Some may feel immediate improvement, while others may require a few sessions before noticing significant changes. We’ll discuss your individual case and expected outcomes during your initial consultation.
What is the cost of chiropractic sessions?
Our pricing is as follows:
- Initial Chiropractic Consultation: $125
- Standard Chiropractic
- Consultation: $95
- BUPA Initial Chiropractic Consultation: $94
- BUPA Standard Chiropractic Consultation: $66
We also offer bulk-billing options for eligible patients with a GP referral under the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan.
Can chiropractic care help with headaches, migraines, and sports injuries?
Absolutely. We help with a range of conditions, including headaches, migraines and sports injuries. Our chiropractors are experienced in treating these issues and will develop a personalised care plan to address your specific needs.
What is your approach to treating chronic pain conditions?
We take a holistic approach to treating chronic pain conditions. Our care typically involves a combination of spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy and lifestyle advice.
We focus on identifying the root cause of your pain and developing a comprehensive treatment plan to provide long-term relief.
Do you provide any take-home exercises or lifestyle advice?
Yes, we believe in empowering our patients to take an active role in their health. We often provide take-home exercises and lifestyle advice tailored to your specific condition and goals. This may include stretching exercises, ergonomic tips, or nutritional guidance to support your overall well-being.
Can I combine chiropractic care with other forms of treatment?
Certainly. Chiropractic care often complements other forms of treatment. We’re happy to work alongside your other healthcare and allied health providers to ensure a coordinated approach to your health.
Always inform us of any other treatments you’re receiving so we can provide the most appropriate care.
How long does a typical chiropractic session last?
A typical chiropractic session lasts about 15-30 minutes, depending on the treatment required.
Your initial consultation will be longer, usually around 30-45 minutes, as it includes a comprehensive health history and examination.
What conditions do you commonly treat besides back pain and neck strain?
In addition to back pain and neck strain, we commonly treat:
- sciatica
- pins and needles
- numbness
- chronic pain
- work-related injuries
- motor vehicle
- accident injuries
- postural issues
- joint pain
What should I wear to my chiropractic appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. Avoid restrictive clothing or items that might impede the adjustment process.
If you’re coming directly from work, we can provide a gown if needed.
What's your cancellation policy?
We understand that schedules can change unexpectedly.
We ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule your appointment. This allows us to waive any associated fees. If an appointment is missed or changed without 24 hours’ notice, the standard fee will apply.
Does Medicare cover chiropractic services?
Medicare can cover chiropractic services under certain conditions. If you have a GP referral under the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, you may be eligible for up to five bulk-billed sessions per year. This falls under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan prescribed by your doctor.
Do you offer health insurance rebates?
Yes, we do offer health insurance rebates. As registered healthcare providers, our chiropractic services are typically covered by most private health insurance funds that include extras cover.
The amount you can claim back depends on your specific policy and level of cover. We have EFTPOS facilities and can process your private health fund claim electronically for you on the spot, meaning you only pay the gap.
Which health insurance funds do you accept?
We accept all major private health insurance funds.
As BUPA Members First Providers, we offer special rates for BUPA members; however, we also work with other funds, including Medibank, HCF, NIB, Australian Unity, and many more.
We recommend checking with your specific health fund about your level of cover for chiropractic services. We can process your claim on the spot with our electronic claiming system, making the process quick and convenient for you.
As a BUPA member, what savings can I expect on chiropractic services?
As BUPA Members First Providers, we offer substantial savings to BUPA clients.
BUPA members can expect to pay $94 for an initial consultation and $66 for standard consultations. We use instant electronic EFTPOS to claim your rebate, so you only pay the gap. This ensures affordable, high-quality chiropractic care for BUPA members.
