It is 39 years since Drs David and Michael Black opened their chiropractic practices in Doncaster/Lower Templestowe and Armadale. From 1985, they decided to offer after-emergency care for those who required it. With their already long opening hours with from early morning to evening, they were unsure if it would be sought after. It did not take long for the weekend gardening and sporting warriors to start calling!
They quickly saw a pattern of desk workers who do little mid-week activity who then strain themselves in the garden or on the tennis court on the weekend. They became well-known in their areas for offering this service. When no one else was answering their phones, their emergency service was well received and appreciated in their communities of the Manningham and Stonnington councils.
On public holidays, they would receive numerous phone calls and often be at the clinic for hours on these days. After four decades, they continue to offer this much needed service. Online bookings now make it even easier as they open some hours on their books on the morning of a public holiday and grateful patients quickly seek them out. This year will be no different with the mornings of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day available for those who need it.
You may wonder what type of problems warrant emergency chiropractic care. Back pain, neck strain, headache and migraine, sports strains, gardening injuries, swimming pool mishaps, falls and trips, too much time looking down on mobile devices, long haul driving and flying trips, lifting luggage, housework and painting strains…it just goes on.

Online bookings can be made using the tap at the top of this website. Chiropractic services are partially covered by private health fund rebates for those with extras in their policy. BUPA customers enjoy a discount as the clinics are a part of the BUPA Members First agreement. Some visits can be covered by Medicare if a GP writes an EPC referral and fees are then bulk-billed.
